What is MyAbroadMDs?

MyAbroadMDs is a platform that connects travelers with licensed English-speaking doctors while abroad. Our Curated Doctor Locator includes licensed English-speaking MD’s in over 150 countries. We aim to provide information and resources to help travelers focus on their travels and not worry about medical issues.

What services will I receive while abroad?

After you complete the required information form, MyAbroadMDs will provide you with a membership number which will allow you access to English-speaking doctors and local health resources based on location and health needs via our membership portal. You will also receive a link so that you can download our TM PIMS organization system which will allow you to input your private medical information and personal travel documents. You also receive an organization prep guide and can connect with our partners to unlock special packages and promotions. In addition, you can shop for health/wellness and travel products via the MyAbroadMDs Marketplace.

What if you don’t have the resources I need for the country I am visiting?

We are adding new countries every day to our network. Please reach out to us at [email protected] so that we can help you locate a doctor in your location.

What if I am unable to get the information I need from the membership portal?

You can call us directly at 917-960-9543 and a member from our team will be in touch with you ASAP.

How do your services affect my relationship with my present doctors?

MyAbroadMDs is not intended to replace your primary care physician or any other doctor. We are a resource that provides information and tools to help advocate for yourself in the event of a medical issue while abroad.

How will MyAbroadMDs help in case of an urgent medical crisis?

In addition to providing contact information for English-speaking medical providers and practices, we also provide information on nearby hospital facilities and pharmacies in the event of an emergency. We suggest using your PIMS when speaking with a doctor.

Where do you provide your services?

MyAbroadMDs currently offers its services in over 150 countries and aims to be the go-to source for locating English-speaking doctors and medical resources worldwide.

Can you help me over the phone?

Once you are a member, you can contact us via chat if you need assistance with technical difficulties via text. Members can communicate with us via our membership portal.

Can I use insurance with MyAbroadMDs?

As of yet, MyAbroadMDs does not directly work with any insurance companies. It is best to check with your insurance company to understand your policy and what it covers. We recommend keeping a copy of your insurance card on your phone in the PIMS system that comes with your membership. Some clinics may require an upfront fee, but you may be able to get reimbursed by submitting a claim to your insurance.

How can I be sure the physicians included are licensed MDs?

Our Curated Doctor Locator employs a multilayered vetting process. While all physicians listed identify as licensed English-speaking MDs, our team has also reached out to many of them, gathering insights through surveys or direct phone interviews. User feedback may further guide your selection. However, it's crucial to understand that inclusion in our list does not constitute an endorsement or recommendation by MyAbroadMDs. The sequence in which the doctors are presented holds no significance. Our primary goal is to equip you with information, enabling you to make informed decisions about your health.

Is my data safe on the MyAbroadMDs website?

Please refer to our privacy policy and terms of service for information on data security. However, it is important to note that because your personal and private data is not stored by MyAbroadMDs, we have no access to your private information.
